Peak Health Centre is a provider for the National Disability and Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
We can help you to move and feel better, allowing you to achieve your health and fitness goals with tailored physiotherapy exercise programs towards your goals. Disabilities of any type should not restrict you from setting and achieving the goals that are meaningful to you.
We work with people with disability to help them to achieve their full potential through active, exercise based rehabilitation in our fully equipped on site rehab gym combined with individualised home exercise programs. Whether your issue is pain, decreased strength, mobility, brain injury, spinal cord injuries or a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders – we can work with you to achieve your goals and take control of your health.
PhYsiotherapy
Manual therapy is a great tool that we can use to help to decrease your pain and increase your function in the short term for certain health conditions. We will use techniques such as:
Soft tissue massage
Mobilisation
Manipulation
Dry needling
Active release therapy
PNF stretching
Manual therapies can help you to achieve your health and fitness goals; and we will explain the reason for each treatment we recommend for you so that you are able to understand and make informed decisions about your care with us.
It is important to note that within the health system these techniques are not used in isolation and they form part of the pain management within your overall management plan that will include exercise rehabilitation and biomechanics analysis for your specific disability. This allows you to become empowered to be in control of your pain, disability or issue, giving you the tools to see improvement in your own time.
As a participant of the national disability insurance scheme, it is important that we as your physiotherapists help to move you away from too much reliance on these passive treatment options and towards active rehabilitation, as this is what the advice is from latest research and evidence to get you the most benefit!
